the Fire Lands
Notable cities: Flamebridge, the capital of the region and home of General Isambard, the region’s mightiest general. The city is also the number one exporter of weapons and metalwork.
Specializing in metal ores, weapons, and competitive duels, fistfights, and thrashings.
Religion: worship of the raging volcano, Mount Fury, in an attempt to avoid his Inferno. Appeasement with acts of bravery and violence are encouraged, and weakness is despised.

the Coast
Notable cities: Firmgrasp is the most luxurious city in the land. Governed by the 14 families of the Council of Patrician, the bustling sea port is known for its riches and decadence.
Specializing in: sandstone and marble, jewelry and luxury exports, painting and high fashion, fine dining
Religion: All faithful citizens of the coast seek to attract Fortune and shun Poverty. They are not so much “gods” as they are principles which push and pull the world, like fate. One hopes to avoid Poverty’s purse and gain Fortune’s favor above all else.

the Plains - urban
Notable cities: Spreadfeather, the capital and the only place in the land where one can obtain a higher education beyond simple apprenticeships and guild labor; Spreadfeather prides itself its nickname, the “City of Wisdom.”
Specializing in education, architecture and engineering, science and technology, medicine
Religion: Two political/philosophical groups constantly compete for dominance: the Fellowship of Terravants, who focus their studies on natural science and the providence of Bounteous Earth and Stars above, and the Auteer Society, who honor Reason and Logic with their studies of human intellect and scientific advancement.

the Plains - rural
Specializing in agriculture and herding
Religion: mostly Terravant, worship Bounteous Earth and Stars Above
The most notable sub-culture found in the rural plains are the roaming herders called Noma. They live in traveling caravans and care for sheep, goats, and cows along with their multi-generational families. Loyalty and hospitality are vital parts of their creed as worshipers of Bounteous Earth.
the Desert
Notable cities: Myway, “the City of a Thousand Pleasures”
Specializing in: tourism, gambling, and (unofficially) crime and slavery
Religion: Citizens and tourists alike reverence the goddess of Pleasure by visiting her temple at Oasis Court, but, as locals are fond of telling visitors, “Anything that brings you pleasure, brings the goddess glory!”

the Foothills
Notable cities: Doubleheart, the cultural center and theater capital of Tenebra, and Tangledweb the High Ruler’s fortress city located deep in the mountains
Specializing in: the performing arts, stone and lumber industry, military training
Religion: Worship the Shadows through performing arts as a way to “shadow” truth with fiction. The Shadows are said to be the source of High Ruler Anwir’s power and nowhere is their presence stronger than in the foothills.
